OK everyone! Let’s go! It’s been a long while since we’ve had a writing challenge, so let’s scrape the rust off with a simple silly one. We’ll try something more involved next time, but for now, we’ll just get back into the swing of things.
The Gens to be used for this challenge are the Motive, Super Power, and Awkward Moments Gens.
The objective of the challenge is to use the aforementioned Gens and turn their results into a short story of at least 10,000 words before the end of the month. No problem, right? The specifications are as follows:
Super Power Gen (Semi-restricted): Use this Gen to choose up to TWO superpower types for your character. If a type produces more than one ability, you can use all of the ones it generates.
Motive Gen (Free use): Use this Gen to give a goal to your character. This is the main driving force of your story.
Awkward Moments Gen (Free use): Use this Gen to make life embarrassing for your main character. You can use as may moments as you like!
You are free to use any other Gens to help you with your story, and you can write more than one story if you have it in you!
Upload your stories via your preferred service or social media platform, share the link in the Disqus comments below, with “July Writing Challenge” and your story title, and be sure to include the results of all the Gens that you used in it! (Also, be sure to specify if your story is NSFW or would otherwise have a non-PG rating.)
