With some people already pulling out their pumpkins, and my latest Gen update focusing on the Horror genre, it only seems natural that this month, we give our tales a terrifying twist. And what better way to test out the updated Plot Device Gen than to see what you can come up with for this, the October Writing Challenge.
The goal is to write a short story or chapter of at least 6,000 words before the 30th of the month, and this time we’ll be using the following Gen:
Plot Device Gen (Semi-restricted): Use this Gen’s Horror sub-categories to produce the major elements to your story. Do NOT mix and match generated results.
You may use any other Gen you like to supplement your story with additional themes, emotions or elements to your story. You can write as many stories as you wish, but if Horror isn’t really your thing, you can use a different genre.
Send your stories to RanGen HERE (please don’t send them as attachments; put the story in the body of the email), and write your name (it doesn’t need to be your real name) and “October Writing Challenge” in the subject line. If you’re having trouble sending long stories in one email, split it in two and clearly mark both as part 1 and part 2.
Alternatively, you can create a free account on Wattpad and submit your stories there. Don’t forget to send me the link!
Be sure to include with your story the results of all the generators, and don’t forget to Follow @Ameronis on Twitter.
