Time to test the foundations and strength of your Main Character’s relationships. Will you focus on describing how one of their existing relationships came to be? Or, will you present them with a new one? And more importantly, will that relationship be a positive, or a negative one?
The challenge’s objective is to use the Love Interest, First Encounter and Drink Gens and turn the results into a short story of at least 10,000 words before the end of the month.
Love Interest Gen: Use this Gen to introduce a character who can be a potential love interest for your Main Character (or, a love interest for your Main Character’s existing love interest! A Love Rival, if you will). They can be someone new, or someone your character has known for a while.
First Encounter Gen: Use this Gen to determine how/why your 2 or more characters come together. The characters can start as complete strangers, or may vaguely know of each other (i.e work colleagues, frequently seen store assistants), but should not have a deep relationship from the beginning.
Drink Gen: Use this Gen to add a little flavour to your story, literally and figuratively, either as a relevant item or as part of a social situation. Some of the drinks’ properties also have the potential to act as a driving force in the story.
The challenge specifications are as follows:
- Roll as many times as you like.
- Do not mix and match results from different rolls.
- Do not change the results.
- You may ignore some generated details but must use a reasonable amount of the rest.
- You may add additional details as you like.
- You can use the Simple or Detailed option where applicable. Choose whatever options you like.
- You can use results from any other Gen as you like.
- You can also use results from any other Gen as you wish, as long as they don’t change your existing details. Existing details from this Gen override details from additional Gens.
With these settings, can you write a story based on your results?
